
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a statutory body established under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 for the regulation of the profession of Chartered Accountants in India.
The Institute is actively engaged in imparting education and training to the students and conducts examinations for them and grants membership to successful candidates and certificates of practice to members intending to practice the profession. Further, it also acts as an advisor to the Government on various issues.
The Institute has its headquarters at New Delhi. In addition, it has five Regional Councils viz. Northern India Regional Council (NIRC), Southern India Regional Council (SIRC), Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC), Western India Regional Council (WIRC) and Central India Regional Council (CIRC). Each Regional Council has its branches in various cities located in its jurisdiction. In all there are more than 125 Branches of the aforesaid Regional Councils spread all over the country.
Allahabad Branch is one of the branch of Central India Regional Council (CIRC). It is a medium category branch having more than 270 members and 1300 students pursuing CA course. Allahabad Branch was set up in the year 1985 with CA.S.H.Jain being its first Chairman.
